This website was created to help the public determine school board accountability and transparency as a public service in providing educational services to children and youth across Canada.
The rise of public discontent with school board service provision and public education in general, exacerbated with the COVID19 pandemic from March 2020 onwards, has generated a large amount of traffic in traditional media and on social media, without any mechanism in place to hold school board providers to a higher standard of performance and address areas of concern.

Provincial Ministries of Education exercise limited to no oversight in day-to-day operations of school boards who are third-party agencies funded by taxpayers, where public service standards still apply, as they relate to all contracted and subcontracted services of provincial government under which education exists in Canada.
School boards have not kept data related to complaints and concerns and rarely have a complaint process outlined on their websites, other than public consultation opportunities.

Does the Minister of Education and its Ministry personnel oversee school boards in Ontario?
Legislatively yes, in practice, very little oversight is done by the Minister or Ministry personnel of school board practices, daily operations and decision-making except when public outcry occurs or parents stage protests.
Can elected school board trustees help with my child’s situation at school?
